- I had two babies by the time I was 20.
- I drove without a driver’s license until I was 20. My daughter was 11 days old when I took my test – and passed.
- I wear a size 10 in women’s shoes.
- I am the tallest female in my family. I have a male cousin who is taller than me.
- I took my motorcycle class twice and failed – I test horribly, period.
- I don’t have a green thumb. Things grow on their own or die.
- I have undiagnosed Adult ADHD and a very short term memory. Sorry!
- I now get preboarding on flights because of the screws in my back.
- I was a vegetarian for about 4 years.
- My first car was a Toyota Corolla.
- I lived in the projects in Hartford for 3 years.
- At the same time, from the time I was 19-22 years old, I received Welfare assistance, food stamps, health insurance, funding for school, and day care assistance. I attended a vocational program and got a job at 22.
- I lost all my benefits 6 weeks later, except for health care.
- I met President Jimmy Carter in 2010 in Washington DC during a Habitat for Humanity International Build.
- I have visited DC more than 10 times.
- I can ride the DC, NYC and Montreal metro systems like a pro – maybe you know this?
- I have 6 sisters, no brothers. Except for my brothers in law.
- I hate the snow – sorry, not sorry.
- I barely eat rice. I don’t care for it.
- I love to dabble in art projects.
- I built my own house with the help of Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity.
- I have lived in the same house for almost 20 years.
- I drive a cool convertible that I named “Lancelot” and my plate says 1 BRUJA (1 WITCH) – it’s a 2019 Black Ford Mustang.
